The bus will make a stop in Lake of Two Rivers Campground
, one of the largest campgrounds in the park. In addition to showers, flush toilets, coin laundry and other facilities, there is a Lake of Two Rivers Store which sells groceries and camping supplies. Bikes rentals are available, and the best biking trail in the park is accessible from the campground.
Further west, the bus will stop at Pog Lake Campground . It is another great option for camping, offering the same facilities (but no store) as Lake of Two Rivers and is within walking distance to Whitefish Group Campground.
Despite all the comforts, do not forget that Algonquin is a bear country, so make sure that you store your food and toiletries away from bears, raccoons and other animals (use the same precautions as you would in the backcountry, hanging your items from a tree, or storing it in a bear-resistant container). Reserve your campsite online or by phone: 1-888-ONT-PARK (1-888-668-7275) from Canada or 1-416-800-0676 (International). The phone reservations are open every day from 7 AM until 9 PM EST. |
