活动包括:


  • 9点上车,在车上讲解和示范如何在寒冷的天气保持温暖;了解电子取暖设备的使用;免费发放换手暖和帽子;概述雪鞋的发展历史、、、等
  • 10点到达 红河国家城市公园介绍 (由加拿大公园工作人指导) ;雪鞋介绍 ,示范和实习。
  • 10点半,开时冬季徒步旅行:实地练习雪鞋的使用,玩各种 冬季游戏;制作和装饰一个雪人、、、等
  • 12点半返回Bus
  • 1点半返回多伦多


我们也将会提供热的饮料和一些抽奖活动

Add to your Lunar New Year celebrations with a winter hike in Rouge National Urban Park!


MEC, Parks Canada and Parkbus welcome you to celebrate the Lunar New Year outdoors. Parks Canada will lead you along the snowy Vista Trail Loop and Beare Wetland Loop in Canada’s first national urban park.


Celebrate the Year of the Dog at Rouge National Urban Park where you will get to learn more about the park, its trails, and even try on and learn how to use snowshoes. This is not a time to stay inside. Come have fun in the snow with us!


There will be instruction in both English, Mandarin and Cantonese.


Schedule

  • 9:15am: Pick up at 30 Carlton Street (TTC subway station College)

On the bus:

  • Welcome and Orientation to Parkbus in Lunar and English.
  • Tips about staying warm and comfortable in cold weather, and some gear demo.
  • Tips on keeping electronics warm to make sure battery stays on.
  • Distribute hand warmers and touques.
  • Brief overview / history of snowshoeing.

  • 10:00am: Welcome to Rouge National Urban Park by Parks Canada Staff

  • Introduction to Snowshoeing
    • Why do we use snowshoes?
    • How to fit and how to put on snowshoes
    • What to wear when snowshoeing

  • 10:30am: Begin Winter Hike
    • Introduction to snowshoeing. We will learn how to fall and get up, how to walk and how to side-step.
    • We will play group winter games and make and decorate a snowman.
    • We will have a tea and hot chocolate break along the way.

  • 12:30pm: Return to the bus and depart to downtown Toronto

  • 1:30pm: Return to 30 Carlton Street

Packing List

  • Warm winter boots and warm socks (bring an extra pair of warm socks)
  • Warm Winter Clothes with lots of layers.
  • Warm winter gloves and hat.
  • Water (You can store extra water on the bus for when you’re done.)
  • Lunch/Snacks — feel free to bring extra food to share
  • Thermos with tea (optional and we will bring some tea of our own to share)
  • Medications
  • Camera
  • Sunglasses
  • Whatever else you need to have fun on the trail :)
