Guided Trip

Guided Paddle to Ragged Falls

A Day in Algonquin’s Wild Side: September 1

The Full Experience

This trip is more than a canoe ride. It is a full day of escaping the city and diving into nature’s rhythm.

It starts with a comfortable coach ride north. You can read, nap, or just watch the scenery change from concrete to rolling hills and pine trees. When you arrive at Oxtongue Lake, the air smells fresh and the water sparkles.

Parkbus guide, Jer Campbell, will lead the group on the paddle to Ragged Falls. Along the way, you will feel the canoe glide across calm stretches and hear the soft dip of paddles in the water. You might spot loons or see fish dart beneath the surface.

At Ragged Falls, you will step out and explore. This is your time to stretch, take photos, and enjoy lunch by the thundering water. The return paddle is relaxed, giving you time to take in the shoreline and chat with new friends.

Back at Oxtongue Lake, there will be extra time on the water before you head home. You will return with tired arms, a clear head, and the kind of calm you only get after a day outside.

About Ragged Falls

Ragged Falls is one of Ontario’s most powerful and beautiful waterfalls. Water from the Oxtongue River rushes over a jumble of rocks, sending up a mist you can feel on your face. You will hear it before you see it. The roar grows louder as you paddle closer. The surrounding forest frames the falls in green, making it the perfect place for photos, a snack, and a quiet moment to take it all in.
