No car? Good.

The bus leaves from the train station

Halifax trips pick up at the VIA Rail station on Hollis Street, in the south end of downtown. Walk down, get on, and be standing under old hemlock two and a half hours later.

  • No rental counter. Nothing to pick up, nothing to return, and no long weekend rate on the one weekend you actually want to go.
  • Keji is two and a half hours away. Far enough that most Haligonians never go, and a straightforward sit if somebody else is driving.
  • No designated driver. Nobody has to stay sharp for the drive home at the end of a long day outside.
  • Park fees are usually in the ticket. One price, booked once, and 90% back if you cancel 14 or more days before.

Why we run out of Halifax

Parkbus runs in Nova Scotia with Parks Canada, because Kejimkujik is two and a half hours from Halifax and there is no other way to get there without a car. That is the whole reason this route exists.

β€œWe took Parkbus’ first trip from Halifax to Keji and what a great experience it was! The amount of time we were given in the park was perfect for a day trip, we did some canoeing, hiking, and our toddler had a great time on the playground. The bus was on time and all staff involved were pleasant and friendly! What a nice way to get out of the city and to one of Nova Scotia’s gems!”

Highly recommend them. The bus service is so useful for people who doesn’t want to drive and gives return facility. They were on time and bus facility was good too. Total worth the cost if you want to avoid hassle driving/parking.

Factor in the cost of gas, parking and renting a car, it's a lot cheaper than taking a personal vehicle.
