Free Shuttle to Gatineau Park

Winter in Ottawa can feel long, but it doesn't have to feel limiting. Every Saturday from January 10 to March 21, our free shuttle whisks you from downtown Ottawa straight into the snowy heart of Gatineau Park, where over 200 kilometres of groomed trails and one of Canada's most beloved ski hills await.

Here's the deal: for just a $10 refundable deposit, you'll hop on at the ByWard Market or the Canadian Museum of History and be gliding through one of North America's largest cross-country ski networks, or carving turns at Camp Fortune, before most people have finished their second coffee.

Relais Plein Air: Cross-Country Skiing, Snowshoeing & Fat Biking

Relais Plein Air is your gateway to Gatineau Park's legendary trail system. Rent cross-country skis, snowshoes, or a fat bike right on-site, then head out onto professionally groomed trails that wind through snow-draped forests, past frozen lakes, and along routes the Ottawa Ski Club has cherished since the early 1900s. Never tried any of this before? No problem. The Relais offers lessons and all the gear you need. Warm up afterward by the fire at the Café des Sentiers with a hot drink and something homemade.

Camp Fortune: Downhill Skiing & Snowboarding

Prefer downhill thrills? Camp Fortune has been teaching people to ski since 1920, and it shows. With 24 runs spread across three peaks, terrain for every ability level, night skiing, and a terrain park, there's a reason it's considered the best ski hill this close to Ottawa. Beginners can take a two-hour lesson with all rentals included, while experienced skiers can challenge themselves on steeper terrain or explore the glades.

The shuttle gives you roughly five hours of winter adventure before heading back to the city. That's enough time to try something new, get some exercise, and remember why Canadian winters are actually pretty great.
