Grand Bend Day Trip by Bus from London

Grand Bend is the beach town Ontario dreams about. A Blue Flag beach with powdery white sand and crystal-clear Lake Huron water. A lively Main Street packed with restaurants, ice cream shops, patios, and boutiques. Craft breweries, local wineries, parasailing, and sunsets that turn the whole sky gold. Parkbus runs day trips to Grand Bend on both Fridays and Sundays, so you can choose the day that works for you. We handle the drive so you can spend the whole day with your feet in the sand and a cold drink in your hand. This is Ontario's Blue Coast at its best.
Leave the Driving to us
Anyone who's been to Grand Bend knows the drill: circle the block, loop the lot, pray for a spot, pay through the nose, walk 15 minutes in flip-flops. Not anymore.
What to Do in Grand Bend
Hit the Beach
This is the main event. Grand Bend Beach holds Blue Flag status, meaning the water quality, safety, and environmental standards are among the highest in the country. The sand is soft and white, the water is shallow and warm, and lifeguards are on duty through the summer. North Beach is the lively hub. South Beach, just past the mouth of Parkhill Creek, is quieter if you want more space. Accessibility mats extend across the sand for visitors using wheelchairs or strollers.
Walk the Strip
Grand Bend's Main Street is a full afternoon on its own. Beach boutiques, surf shops, ice cream parlours, restaurants, and patios line both sides. Archie's Surf Shop is an institution. Highway Girl does great baked goods and coffee. Midori Sushi — yes, sushi at the beach — has a patio with a swing-set bar. You're not going to go hungry here.
Try the Water Sports
Grand Bend has more water action than most people expect. Rent a jet ski, try flyboarding, go parasailing over Lake Huron, or take a boat tour along the shoreline with Xtreme Water Sports. Paddleboard and kayak rentals are available right on the beach.

How does the Grand Bend day trip work?
Parkbus departs London at 10:00 AM and drops you in Grand Bend. You'll have the full day to explore the beach, the town, and everything in between. We pick you up later that day and bring you back to London. Day trips run on both Fridays and Sundays.
What is there to do in Grand Bend?
Grand Bend punches well above its weight for a small town. The main draw is the beach — kilometres of soft sand on Lake Huron with lifeguards on duty in summer. Beyond the beach, you can stroll Main Street ("The Strip") for shops and restaurants, visit Dark Horse Estate Winery, catch a show at Huron Country Playhouse, rent jet skis or try parasailing, browse the Pinery Market (Sundays), or simply park yourself on a patio and watch the world go by. Brewster's Brewing Company is right in town for craft beer fans.
Is Grand Bend just a summer destination?
Grand Bend is at its liveliest from June through September, but shoulder season has its own charm — fewer crowds, quieter beaches, and beautiful fall colours in the surrounding countryside.
Are there restaurants and food options?
Plenty. Grand Bend's Main Street is lined with dining options ranging from casual fish and chips to sushi (yes, there's sushi at the beach). You'll find ice cream parlours, bakeries, pubs, and patios everywhere. Highway Girl is a local favourite for baked goods and coffee.
Is the beach accessible?
Yes. Grand Bend Beach has accessibility mats that extend across the sand, making it easier for people using wheelchairs or strollers to reach the water.
Can I also visit Pinery Provincial Park from Grand Bend?
Pinery is just a short distance south of Grand Bend. If you're up for a walk or have a bike, you could potentially visit the park's day-use area, but keep in mind our bus picks you up in Grand Bend — so plan your time accordingly.
