Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When and where does the bus depart from in Toronto?
A: We’ll confirm your pick-up location(s) and times one week before the event. We aim for central, accessible stops. Be sure to arrive 10 minutes early.
Q: What is included in the ticket price?
A: Your ticket includes round-trip bus transportation, access to Mountsberg’s Spooktacular event, some candy giveaways, and participation in the special attractions (e.g. scavenger hunt, fossil excavation). Food, additional treats, or souvenirs may cost extra.
Q: What age range is this trip suitable for?
A: Families with young children through early teens will all enjoy this. Because there are no jump scares, even the littlest children can attend. Some attractions (e.g. Night Walk) may get dark, so parental supervision is recommended.
Q: Should we bring flashlights?
A: Yes — we recommend bringing a small flashlight or using your phone’s flashlight to help navigate dim areas.
Q: Can I bring my dog or pet?
A: Yes, furry friends (on leash) are welcome for the general park event. However, pets are not permitted in the Raptor Centre building, netted presentation areas, or Raptor Trail. Also, pets should be kept away from Mountsberg’s live animals. Conservation Halton+1 Service animals may have additional restrictions. Please contact the park in advance with any accessibility needs.
Q: Are there jump scares or scary elements?
A: No — this is a family-friendly event with spooky themes and immersive elements, but no jump scares.
Q: Is the event outdoors? What happens in bad weather?
A: Yes, much of Spooktacular is outdoors (Night Walk, trails, displays). The event proceeds rain or light inclement weather, with adjustments as needed. Dress appropriately (jackets, waterproof clothing). In case of severe weather, we’ll monitor conditions and notify participants if there’s any change or cancellation.
Q: How long is the walking/trail portion?
A: The Night Walk trail is a moderate walk through illuminated themed displays. Some sections are wooded paths. The pace is self-guided, so you can go slowly with children or linger at displays.
Q: Can we take photos / bring cameras?
A: Absolutely — we encourage it! Don your costumes, pose at our Halloween photo stations, and capture memories. (Just please don’t use flash in animal areas if it might disturb creatures.)
Q: What if my child is scared or wants to leave early?
A: You’re welcome to return to the main gathering zones at any time. The walk is self-paced. We ask that one adult always accompanies young children. The bus leaves at the scheduled time — lateness may result in missing the ride home.
Q: Are refunds available?
A: Our refund policy will be shared upon registration. (You might want to offer partial or full refund windows, or credit for another date.)
Q: Are washrooms and facilities available?
A: Yes — there are washrooms on site and basic facilities for comfort breaks.
Q: Is food provided?
A: Light seasonal eats and sweets will be available for purchase. You may bring your own snacks (within park guidelines), though feeding the barn animals is not permitted. Conservation Halton
Q: What if I have mobility or accessibility needs?
A: Portions of the grounds and the Raptor Centre are accessible, but the Night Walk includes uneven paths. If you require accommodations or have questions, please contact us or the park in advance so we can make your experience as comfortable as possible.
