Silent Lake

Guided Trip – July 19

Share a Moment of Silence

At Silent Lake, there are no motorboats. No cell service. No endless pings or buzzing screens. Just still water, quiet trails, and the rare sound of your own thoughts.

This trip is a chance to truly disconnect from the city and reconnect with yourself, and a few like-minded strangers.

Tucked into the forest near Bancroft, just three hours from Toronto, Silent Lake is the perfect antidote to city noise and digital fatigue. It’s a place to walk away from the chaos and find your footing again in nature.

This ActiveDays trip is led by the endlessly engaging Parkbus guide Kfir Lavi, who sets the tone with stories, nature insights, and easygoing energy.

What to Expect with ActiveDays

ActiveDays is about more than just getting outside. It’s about getting out there.

This is your chance to meet new people in the wild. You know, the kind of strangers who become trail buddies, snack sharers, or maybe even friends. Whether you’re coming solo or with someone, the vibe is open, casual, and unpretentious.

Join the group hike, or wander at your own pace. There’s no pressure to perform. We just make space to explore, in nature and in conversation.

New trails. New people. New stories.

Do I need to be an experienced hiker?
Not at all. This trip is great for all skill levels. The hike will be on well-marked trails with a mix of forest paths and scenic lookouts. Expect a few gentle hills, but nothing too challenging.

Is the hike guided the whole time?
Yes! Our Parkbus guide, Kfir Lavi, will lead the group with his signature energy and insights. That said, if you'd rather go at your own pace or spend some solo time by the lake, you're more than welcome to.

What should I bring?
Comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots, a water bottle, snacks or a lunch, and weather-appropriate clothing. Bug spray and sunscreen are good ideas too. No special gear required. Just a willingness to disconnect.

Is there really no cell service?
Yep. Silent Lake has zero reception, which is exactly the point. This is a rare chance to step completely away from the digital world and into a truly quiet place.

Is this family friendly?
This trip is best suited for adults and older kids who are comfortable with a moderate hike and time off-grid. There won’t be cell service or structured kid-specific activities.

What makes Silent Lake special?
It’s all in the name. No motorboats. No crowds. No distractions. Just deep silence, calm water, and forest trails that wind through one of Ontario’s most peaceful parks. It’s a true escape from the city and from your screen.

Who is Kfir Lavi?
Kfir is a longtime Parkbus guide known for turning strangers into friends and hikes into unforgettable experiences. He’s passionate about nature, connection, and making the outdoors feel welcoming for everyone.

Can I come solo?
Absolutely. Most ActiveDays participants come on their own. It’s a great way to meet like-minded people in a laid-back, social setting. No cliques, no pressure. Just good people and great scenery.

Will there be swimming?
Yes, there's time to swim if weather allows! Silent Lake has clean, quiet water and a sandy beach—perfect for a refreshing dip after the hike.
