Start your day at the renowned Algonquin Outfitters at Oxtongue Lake, just minutes from Algonquin's West Gate. Pick up your snowshoe or cross country ski rentals (included in your trip!) and get expert local advice on trail conditions.

Choose Your Winter Adventure

As a group we'll decide to head to either the West Gate's Fen Lake Trail system for cross country skiing, or down to Mew Lake where you can enjoy cross country skiing, snow shoeing on the old rail trail or skating (bring your own skates). Glide through hardwood forests blanketed in snow, where the only sounds are your skis cutting through powder and chickadees calling overhead. The Fen Lake trails offer 18 kilometers of groomed and track-set skiing through beautiful terrain near the West Gate, perfect for beginners and intermediate adventurers alike. Mew Lake has a new ~2km beginner trail open this year!

Pick up at 34 Asquith Ave, just north of the Yonge and Bloor Subway stop. We recommend getting there 15 minutes early to make sure you have enough time for the bus.
