Saugeen Beach / Sauble Beach Bus Trip from Toronto

Experience the perfect combination of natural waterfalls and pristine beach relaxation. Visit the stunning Sauble Falls, then spend the day at Sauble Beach - Ontario's second-longest freshwater beach. Perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying the crystal-clear waters of Lake Huron.

Eleven kilometres of warm, shallow, golden-sand shoreline. The second-longest freshwater beach in Canada. Sunsets that Ontarians will quietly tell you are better than anything on the east coast. And until now, basically inaccessible without a car and a full tank of patience.

A proper Great Lakes beach day

Saugeen Beach (you may still know it as Sauble Beach) sits on the Lake Huron side of the Bruce Peninsula, about three hours northwest of Toronto. The sand is fine and pale, the bottom slopes out gently for ages, and the water warms up properly by mid-summer in a way that Lake Ontario just doesn't. You can wade out a hundred metres and still touch bottom. Kids, nervous swimmers, and anyone who grew up on the Atlantic will understand the appeal immediately.

The beach runs north to south along Lakeshore Boulevard, lined with access paths, public swimming areas, picnic tables, and a steady procession of patios facing the water. Main Street is the heart of it: ice cream counters, chip trucks, beach shops, and lakeside restaurants that have been doing the same thing well for decades. If you want to rent a paddleboard, throw a volleyball, or find a quiet dune further from the crowd, it's all walkable from where we drop you off.

We handle the drive, the parking, the traffic on the way home. You handle the towel, the book, and the question of how many ice creams is too many. The bus leaves Toronto in the morning, gets you to the beach by late morning, and brings you back the same night after sunset. You get a full day on the sand without giving up a weekend or borrowing a car.

How to visit both Beach and Falls on the same trip

Our favourite itinerary is to start inside the Sauble Falls Provincial Park (your entry is included).

After resting by the falls (the viewing area has picnic tables) or hiking the easy 2.5km Sauble Trail (view park map), you can walk out of the park, and follow Sauble Falls road to the north end of the beach (about 2.6km/30 min walk on the Sauble Falls Road).

You can then either backtrack to the same Sauble Falls pickup location, or walk (on the beach) for about an hour to our southern pick-up point.

Total walking required:

- if walking to our official Saugeen Beach pickup: approximately 6-7 km, 3.5 of it on the beach
- if backtracking to our Saulbe Falls pickup : approximately 5.2km - 2.6km each way along Sauble Falls road
