Elliot Tree Farm Maple Syrup Experience

Parkbus takes you from Toronto straight to Elliott Tree Farm, a 100-acre family farm near Hillsburgh that's been creating sweet Canadian memories since 1983. This is one of the most packed day trips of the spring. Your ticket includes an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, a guided sugarbush trail walk, a working sugar shack visit with tastings, entry to the Maple Syrup Museum of Ontario, and plenty of maple products to sample and take home. Here's how the day unfolds:
Pancake Breakfast in the Horse Barn Canteen
Kick off your day with all-you-can-eat pancakes drizzled in award-winning pure Ontario maple syrup, served with fresh-cut Canadian bacon, maple breakfast sausage, and butter. Wash it all down with hot apple cider, coffee, tea, or juice in the warm, rustic canteen. Your seating is at 10:30 AM.
Sugarbush Trail & Sugar Shack
Follow the trail through the sugarbush to Elliott Tree Farm's working sugar shack. Along the way, check sap buckets hanging from the trees, taste raw sap and partially cooked sap, and watch maple syrup being made the traditional way. The highlight? Fresh maple taffy pulled over snow and warm maple sugar straight from the shack. Complimentary toboggans are available for the trail, and there's a campfire to gather around.
Maple Syrup Museum of Ontario
End your visit at the 1850 Heritage Barn, home to the only Maple Syrup Museum of Ontario. Explore the history of maple syrup from Indigenous traditions to modern production, taste the farm's different award-winning syrup grades, and browse their shop for maple products, freshly baked treats, and farm apparel to bring home.

What's included with my Elliott Tree Farm admission?
Your admission covers the full maple experience: all-you-can-eat pancakes with pure maple syrup, bacon, and sausage in the Horse Barn Canteen, plus a hot drink (apple cider, coffee, or tea) and juice or water. You also get access to the sugarbush trail and sugar shack, where you'll taste raw sap, partially cooked sap, maple sugar, and maple taffy over snow. Entry to the Maple Syrup Museum of Ontario in the Heritage Barn is included, along with a tasting of their award-winning syrup grades. Complimentary toboggans are available for the trail, and there's a campfire to warm up by.
What should I wear?
It's early April, so think spring layers and expect mud. Waterproof boots or shoes with good grip are a must since you'll be walking through the sugarbush on a forest trail. Dress in layers you can peel off if it warms up, and bring a rain jacket just in case. Leave the white sneakers at home for this one.
How much walking is involved?
The sugarbush trail walk to the sugar shack takes about 10 to 15 minutes each way. The terrain is natural forest trail, so it can be uneven and muddy in spring. It's a casual walk at your own pace, not a hike, and there are complimentary toboggans available if the kids (or you) want to have some fun on the trail.
Is there food available beyond the pancake breakfast?
The all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast is your main meal and it's hearty. At the Heritage Barn, you can also purchase freshly baked maple treats, maple butter tarts, fudge, and other goodies. They accept cash, debit, and credit.
Can I buy maple syrup and gifts to bring home?
Absolutely, and you'll want to. The Heritage Barn gift shop stocks Elliott Tree Farm's award-winning pure maple syrup (their Golden Harvest was named one of the top 20 maple syrups in the world by Taste Atlas), along with signature maple products, baked goods, and farm apparel. Just remember you'll need to carry your purchases back on the bus!
What are the pancake breakfast seating times?
Our group's seating is at 10:30 AM in the Horse Barn Canteen. Between your meal, the sugarbush trail walk, and exploring the museum, there's plenty to fill your day.
What if the weather is bad?
If Elliott Tree Farm needs to close due to weather, they'll notify ticket holders via email and social media. Ticket holders receive a credit for a future date. Tickets are non-refundable but are transferable, so you can pass yours along to a friend if your plans change.
Is this experience good for kids?
It's one of the best family outings of the spring. Kids love checking sap buckets, tasting maple taffy over snow, riding the complimentary toboggans on the trail, and of course the endless pancakes. Children 5 and under get free admission to the farm experience.
Are there any allergy concerns?
Elliott Tree Farm's food service may contain or come into contact with common allergens including dairy, eggs, wheat, soybeans, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, and wheat. If you have food allergies, plan accordingly.
